DEFINING GLOBAL AFRICAN INEQUITY
Today the circumstances of the global African experience predict the opportunities they have in life. In countries all across the globe, the African identity has been unfavorably positioned within the socio-economic scale despite the inherent resilience they possess.
There exists a large legacy of contributing factors which perpetuate this disposition. The public education system and economic infrastructure found on the continent are not designed to give all Africans agency to overcome the barriers they face, to lead in a global world, or to shape a better future for themselves or for all of us.
At the Alliance of Progressive Young Africans, we know that no single solution is sufficient to bring about an equitable resolution for all Africans. Solving the problem requires leadership at every level, working together inside and outside of our socio-economic status, in pursuit of enduring change.
OUR APPROACH
Addressing the Challenges
We at APYA focus on the mass reorientation, re-education, and enlightenment of the global African people and the provision of economic empowerment for the mitigation and prevention of socio-economic suppression. These provisions are tailored to the particular circumstances and needs of the world’s most vulnerable and at-risk populations. We are passionate about addressing the globalization of African people and work to achieve a new united Africa with citizens from all over the world working for better opportunities amidst our global community.
Re-Education
Educate Africans and African descendants worldwide on African History and causes of the deterioration of the African continent in understandable and local languages. To inform the populace and assert a collective authority on the concepts of governance while creating platforms for cooperation and economic empowerment of the global African people.
Reorientation
Reorientate the global African people, to foster unity for synergy between Africans in the Diaspora and Continental Africans, creating a modern African identity for our collective prosperity and development of the African continent. Facilitate positive social behavioral changes and reorientation advocating for peace and unity within the diverse continent and her global people.
Enlightenment
Enlighten Africans towards an awakened state of understanding that transcends the boundaries of global socioeconomic status suppression. This is the expression of a modern global African culture through the advocacy of Pan-Africanism, which frees its people from colonial bondage to obtain liberation.
"The past begets the present, the present births the future."
Thus it is imperative for all Africans to awaken to the shared history of colonial globalization to usher in a new wave of progressive change.
